Context of the mission/objective(s) of the job
PowerShell Automation Engineers work as part of the Engineering team and are responsible for the design and implementation of infrastructure automation components. These automation components will primary be developed using Windows PowerShell and will focus on Windows Server components including its various features.
Responsibilities
- Automation experience (PowerShell scripting)
- Architect/Implement the scripting solution
- Develops scripts, PowerShell Scripts for automation
- Assist in setting up, deployment and automation for Cloud migration activities
- Develop - installation, configuration procedures, runbooks and contributing to the maintenance of operational standards
- Windows baseline hardening - Implement security measures
- AWS Windows AMI - Scanning, reporting, and documenting expert
- Identify and resolve Migration related issues (Azure / AWS)
- Assist in designing and deploying new systems
- Experience with Windows/Linux OS and scripting languages
- Troubleshoot and resolve support tickets prioritized by the Production Engineer Manager
- Assist with server and environment audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
- Participate in functional and technical meetings throughout the development life cycle
- Identify recurring issues and drive automated resolution behind them
Requirements
Required skills
- 8+ years of experience in the IT field with a mix of systems engineering and software development/scripting experience
- 4+ years of scripting experience on cloud (Azure/AWS)
- Strong in PowerShell (#1 requirement)
- Experience in Scripting, Windows PowerShell Scripting for automation
- Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008, Windows OS Infrastructure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Azure/AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- strong experience on Azure / AWS Cloud formations and Windows PowerShell
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Work Experience will be considered in lieu of a Degree
