About the Role
Our client, a key player in the Belgian insurance sector, is looking for an Atlassian Migration Project Manager to lead a complex and business-critical Atlassian migration initiative. The project involves transitioning the current Atlassian environment to a new setup (most likely Cloud-based), ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations and close alignment with business and IT teams.
This is not a generic data migration project — we are specifically looking for someone with deep Atlassian ecosystem knowledge and hands-on migration experience across tools like Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and deliver a smooth Atlassian migration project (e.g., Server to Cloud or Data Center)

Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and project deliverables

Provide expert guidance on migration best practices and tool limitations

Identify and mitigate risks during migration

Communicate clearly with IT teams, business stakeholders, and end users

Ensure effective post-migration support (validation, hypercare, documentation)
Must-Have Skills
✅ Proven experience managing Atlassian platform migrations (Jira, Confluence - not just data migrations)
✅ Deep understanding of Jira Software (projects, workflows, schemes, permissions)
✅ Familiar with Jira Service Management (ITSM features, SLAs, queues)
✅ Hands-on with migration tools such as JCMA, CCMA, Project Configurator, etc.
✅ Able to identify and address common migration issues (app compatibility, permissions, data loss)
✅ Experience managing stakeholders and cross-functional project teams
✅ Fluent in French or Dutch, with strong command of English
