D-Network.EU - Software Asset Manager


  • Ensure continual SW license compliance and manage financial risk of SW license incompliance for all entities of the Belgium entity
  • Optimize license spend, by ensuring optimal use of SW licenses purchased “buy what we need, use what we buy”, drive decomissioning initiatives
  • Owner of the Software Assets related processes & governance


Key responsibility areas

  • Represent the company in SW license audits conducted by vendors, reducing and mitigating financial risk. Represent the Belgium Entity in SAM forums and meetings
  • Implement ISO-19770 processes and ensure 19770-certification. Implement and maintain accurate Software Asset Management (SAM) repositories and tools. Propose and implement company SAM policies. Maintaine accurate records of software and related assets. Deliver results against the approved SAM plan and objectives
  • Manage and ensure Exco validation of yearly SAM objectives and compliance calendar
  • Engage & ensure roles & responsibilities of SAM stakeholder community : SAM functions, IT & business, IT service partners
  • Report on license spend to CIO and Group SAM program.
  • Ensure regular assessment of the risks associated with software and related assets, and management-specified mitigation approaches, their documentation and approval by the Risk Committee.Build a SW license competence center, expert in software licensing and software product use rights as well as interpreting licensing terms and conditions.
  • Create awareness in the Belgium Entity about the financial risks of non-compliancy by delivering presentations, awareness sessions, trainings for IT and business community.



  • Specific expertise:
    • ISO-19770 standard, methods and implementation
    • SAM tooling implementations (Flexera, Aspera, Service Now, Glpi, ...)
    • SW vendor contracts and license compliance
    • Business needs translation in optimal software licensing model.
    • Managing software vendors compliancy audits to minimize financial and reputational impacts.
    • Different licensing models implemented by our major software vendors and the way these are adapted by the Belgium entity and/or contracts
  • Education, specific training and experience:
    • At least a bachelor degree or university with at least 5 years relevant Software Asset Management/Software License Optimization experience
    • IT processes Itilv3, COBIT
    • IT audit, SW compliance audit
    • IT procurement
  • Interpersonal skills:
    • Interacting efficiently with operational and executive management
    • Fluent in English, French/Dutch
    • Contract & audit negotiation
    • Animating stakeholder community
    • Working with confidential and sensitive information
