  • The Global Infrastructure Software Team is focused on the operational service and support of End User Computer related services such as PC Management, back-up, Endpoint Protection, and software packaging.
  • The Infrastructure Software Specialist for SEP will be involved in various projects to improve Quality of Service to our customers, and will work to ensure 2nd and 3rd level service delivery of Symantec Endpoint Protection to Business Services customers globally.
  • The Infrastructure Software Specialist for SEP will work closely with the rest of the IT Operations Service Team, as well as the IT Customer Service organization to ensure high quality support for Business Services, IT global services, including continuous efforts to improve operations.


Job Summary

  • The Infrastructure Software Specialist will be part of a global team, and focus especially on the Symantec Management Platform, including patch management and software deployment activities to ensure that agreed deployment and compliance targets are successfully achieved.
  • The selected candidate will also monitor, support, troubleshoot and resolve operational issues within the Infrastructure Software domain, including failures, service level degradations and to act as 2nd level support for all service desk incident escalated to Infrastructure Software


Job Description

  • Part of a team managing Symantec Management Platform services globally
  • Act as ongoing support while coordinating with end users, external partners and IT team for operational services in written and verbal communications.
  • Assist in providing advanced technical, operational, analytical and research support to IT team.
  • Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshooting Imaging, Encryption, Back-up and Software deployments
  • Perform daily system monitoring using various software and Hardware monitoring tools, verifying the integrity and availability of resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying the overall status of the Symantec Management Platform environment
  • Ensuring monitoring alerts and systems events are assessed, prioritized, escalated, and managed
  • Triage advanced problems, taking corrective action to ensure availability and minimize downtime.
  • Create update and manage detailed technical documentation and standard operating procedures



  • Experience requirements:
    • Solid experience managing Symantec Management Platform
    • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating system family
    • Knowledge of Scripting/programing language(s)
    • Analytic / Problem Solving skills.
    • Experience with developing work procedures and expediting workflow. Able to study, standardize and enhance procedures to improve efficiencies'
    • Experience with understanding and documenting application requirements and dependencies
  • Knowledge:
    • Fluency in English, spoken and written is a must. Other languages are an asset.
    • Awareness of ITIL based processes
  • Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or similar through experience
    • Certification within ITIL (Foundation) is an asset.
    • Fluency in English, spoken and written is a must. Other languages are an asset.
  • Personality requirements:
    • Self-driven, service minded individual with a good communication & collaboration skills
    • Team player who enjoys to share knowledge, information and experiences with colleagues
    • Pro-active responsibility is required
    • Proven track record to work independently while managing priorities (Pro-activity is required)
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Responsibility to take own initiative during daily operational tasks and in the projects assigned
    • Expand technical competence and willingness to learn on the job via internal and external training
    • Ability to see the technical implications and the impact on cost and quality
