Proximus SpearIT - Presales Services Consultant


  • The presales consultant services takes the ownership of the service related aspects in customer offers and ensures a suited service approach is applied in the proposal. He/she works in close collaboration with the presales consultants of the different solution houses within SOL IT and SOL Telco.
  • For multi-solution projects, the presales services consultant ensures a good alignment between the services on the different solutions in the bid, and brings maximal end-to-end customer experience across all solutions.  
  • The main added value of the presales consultant services is:
    • Increasing Proximus' added value in service related bids
    • Turning service aspects into real differentiators in customer proposals
    • Convincing our customers by our service quality (assist sales in customer presentations)
    • And as a consequence, improve win ratio of bids


Job content


The presales consultant services takes the responsibility of following activities: 

  • Understanding customer needs with respect to services:
    • Determine which type of services are requested (installation, maintenance, monitoring, management, reporting...).
    • Understanding the reasons behind the different service requirements of the customer (global context, customer pains...). 
  • Services strategy & requirements management:
    • Determine the service gap between the customer requirements and Proximus standard capabilities. Decide which services to outsource to external parties (in agreement with service delivery organization)
    • Making a meaningful trade-off between service compliance level, risks and buying criteria of the customer.
    • Deciding which SLA's to offer on the different elements and including them into an end-to-end SLA approach for the customer where possible/needed.  
  • Services pricing in customer proposals:
    • Ensuring market conform service pricings in customer bids (in collaboration with ICT pricing team).
    • Ensure correct and complete services costing input for project P&L's. 
  • Find & describe quick-win solutions for specific customer needs:
    • Take the ownership of finding quick win solutions to comply to specific services related customer needs in the scope of a customer bid.
    • Validate customized services proposals with product managers and service delivery before sending out the proposal to the customer. 
  • Service optimization:
    • Formulate concrete service development improvement actions to the services development team.
    • Work-out reusable descriptions of service related topics and ensure they are put available for future customer projects.



  • Main competences:
    • You have excellent communication, presentation & proposal writing skills;
    • You are a team player and can easily work with different people in different functional domains;
    • You are result driven and stress resistant. Working under tight deadlines does not bother you;
    • You take ownership and responsibility;
    • You understand customer needs and can formulate suitable propositions;
    • You have a good balance between a critical attitude and constructive 'can do' attitude;
    • You are flexible and solution-oriented. 
  • General knowledge & experience: 
    • Excellent French/Dutch writing skills. Native French is a plus.
    • Good high level knowledge of various ICT-domains
    • Good understanding of the Proximus organization
    • Master grade or equal by experience
    • Interest in ICT services is key. Knowledge of ITIL and experience in a presales environment are a big plus.
