Swift - Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Developer


  • Design, develop, test, install and support Business Intelligence applications in line with agreed requirements.
  • Prepare specifications, codes, tests, deliverables, acceptance criteria, time frames, etc. . . and prepare and study the technical feasibility and estimates of the proposed systems solutions.
  • Analyze the problems, develop and propose solutions to more Senior team members.
  • Provide technical assistance to other Swift colleagues and provide guidance to more Junior team members in their daily work.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and prepare and give presentations to customers on systems.
  • Provide timing/scheduling estimates to project lead and propose corrective actions to timelines when necessary.
  • Assist with enhancing and maintaining the continuous integration framework; constantly strive to further automate and optimize where possible
  • Collaborate closely with your colleagues in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • As part of a Scrum team, be flexible to temporarily take on other assignments (analysis, frontend development, testing, ...)
  • Assume on-call activities as part of a rotational arrangement in the team



  • 7-10 years of experience in Data Warehousing and ETL

  • Good understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence design and architecture concepts

  • Proven experience of Oracle Data Warehouse development: SQL, PL/SQL, advanced performance tuning and DBA skills; Exadata knowledge is a pro

  • Unix/Linux, Shell and Perl scripting; basic system administration eg. Solaris packaging is a pro

  • Proven experience in reporting a MicroStrategy is a pro

  • Experience in BIG data concepts and technologies is a pro

  • Experience in machine learning using technologies such as R or Python is a pro

  • Version Control: GIT, clearcase or SVN experience is a must (bitbucket/nexuspro/Jenkins/Jira are pro)

  • Agile development methodology experience (Scrum)

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong communication; fluent in English

  • Continuous improvement mindset

  • Team player, but able to work independently

  • Possesses a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritization

  • Proactive, leading rather than following
