For a client in Antwerp, I am searching for a freelance PLC Programmer to join an engineering team providing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC software modifications and upgrades using Siemens TIA Portal.
- Conduct system analysis to identify, plan, and execute upgrade opportunities within warehouse automation systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop solutions that meet customer-specific operational requirements.
- Test, troubleshoot, and validate modified PLC programs both in simulated and live environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including software design specifications, test plans, and change logs.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to field service engineers during troubleshooting and upgrade deployment.
- Perform on-call shift once every 2 months outside of business hours in 24/7 service
Profile
- Strong proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal and STEP 7.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming, modification, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of HMI, WinCC is helpful.
- Background in industrial automation, warehouse systems, or material handling equipment is a bonus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Previous experience in customer service engineering roles.
