Connect People - SAP Basis Analyst

Role

  • You will work with a globally diverse SAP Basis team and other IT process partners providing support to our globally located logistics customers.
  • You will provide SAP Basis administration services, support the SAP end-to-end technical architecture and solutions offered for our current global client base.
  • Furthermore, you will be responsible to provide day-to-day support for our existing clients and the different SAP Support and product teams, and support the different project initiatives to assist with the design and development of the SAP system landscapes in a diversity of business- , technical support, development, integration and diversity of implementation projects.

 

Position overview

  • This position reports to an IT Supervisor or IT Manager. It requires a profound knowledge, experience and expertise on the organization and execution of the daily support tasks, the technical implementations and executed projects in relation to the supported SAP platforms.
  • Providing support to a diverse team of internal and external client's customers this job requires a good understanding of the client business, the way our business ties into the client IT environments and the way the different SAP implementations are supported by the different Global client support teams and external service suppliers.
  • Customers may include internal client organizations (service centers and/or worldwide business units), suppliers, dealers and end-users.
  • As a Senior Analyst, you possess technical, analytical and interpersonal skills to operate as a facilitator for your Junior team members and you have the ability to provide guidance & direction to your team members when executing their assignments. You can work independently on project assignments and can provide guidance and leadership to the project team members to deliver within projected target dates and scope. Supported SAP Platforms:
    • SAP ERP 6.0
    • SAP PI 7.X - Abap and Java stack
    • SAP Solution Manager 7.X - Abap and Java stack
    • SAP BW / BPC 10.0 - Abap and Java stack
    • SAP Scm (APO-Spp, Gatp, EWM)
    • SAP HANA based platforms
  • In your position you will be responsible to:
    • Support our SAP system landscapes and our Internal and external business partners to maintain service levels within expectations of our customers.
    • Assist our client service and product teams while executing their day-to-day support work and project assignments (L1,L2 support teams, Abap developers, Integration teams, project teams, customer service teams and end-users)
      • Ensure ITSM & Security processes and procedures are followed. You will execute, facilitate and provide guidance to the team for the following Support tasks:
      • Incident management
      • Problem management
      • Change Management
      • As well as providing Audit and account administration support
    • Provide guidance to the SAP technical teams to ensure process guidelines and support procedures are effectively applied.
    • Understand our customers and ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.
    • Lead key SAP Basis team initiatives and provide technical direction to external suppliers as needed for installations, upgrades, refreshes, proofs of concept, backups and other complex projects as needed
  • You are prepared to:
    • Run in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
    • You are prepared for limited travel in support of project and planning sessions.

 

Must Have Qualifications

  • Ability to work with a diverse and global team within the client across different sections and departments.
  • Ability to work as a team player with focus on our customers and project execution.
  • Competence in project management, ability to manage complex application & technical projects across different functional areas (sections/departments) across a diverse global team
  • Strong administration skills of SAP systems (SAP Abap and SAP Java) to maintain/support a global SAP environment including troubleshooting problems, escalating open issues, implementing solutions, and optimize the system for maximum performance.
  • Ability to manage complex applications & technical problem identification, resolution and manage communication between support teams, functional teams, service personnel and customers.
  • Able to communicate in a clear and consistent way adjusting style based on audience.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues/solutions in a manner that is easily understood and actionable despite the audience.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical design and to execute, monitor full technical implementations.
  • Desire to stay up to date on new developments and tendencies within the IT world and the supported IT platforms and applications to enable you to identify opportunities for our client.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project and SharePoint.
  • Ability to perform well within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Provide insight and demonstrated knowledge to provide input to various SAP environment management strategies including:
    • SAP Environment Planning: creation, refreshes, back-up, and recovery
    • SAP Roadmap Administration: timing of upgrades, service/enhancement packs, and implementation of new modules
    • SAP Change and Transport Management Strategy

 

Required/Preferred Experience

  • Minimal Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Solid IT Background knowledge in diverse area's like DB management, Networking, application design and development, OS administration (Linux, Unix,..), ...
  • Solid (5+ years) SAP Technical experience & knowledge.
  • Solid (5+ years) on SAP application platforms and future roadmap.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL and ITSM best practices.
  • Knowledgeable on warehouse operations and/or parts logistics methodologies.
  • Hands on, approachable, constructive, delegator (where appropriate), supportive, accountable and takes initiative to remove barriers so support and project activities can be executed on time, within budget and within scope.
