As a Functional Analyst in the Analyses Chapter you are joining a team of highly talented and motivated analysts in the domain of Operational Planning & Competencies.
This domain designs and delivers the IT solutions for the planning and competency management of the client resources.
You will work on the project APS and other related project in the domain of Operational Planning. These projects aim to further digitalize and optimize the operational planning services of the client.
You will be the key player in a three steps process, from translations of business demand over functional analyses into clear and specific technical deliverables.
In this role, you will have the direct opportunity to shape the project outputs and help the client deliver increasingly better services.
Responsibilities
- Your past experiences show engagement, self-starting ownership.
- You have been analysing smaller projects as well as multi-year / multi-million SW development projects.
- You possess a good understanding of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies in theory and in practice.
- You have analysed demands that were complex with regards to unclear requirements, many data dependencies with long sequence diagrams, changing requirements.
- Your assignments cover structured eliciting of business needs and requirements.
- Your assignments cover prioritized translation into detailed work instructions for the implementation team.
- Your assignments show ownership of the solution being implemented including the definition of acceptance criteria, monitoring of quality assurance and even participation to testing.
- You have experience in the business change management related to product increments. Documenting training material and even giving training is not new.
- Technical and architectural comfort based on education as well as experience in technical side of SW development.
- Next to your project work you are fully engaged to analyse evolutions, maintain the life cycle and provide L2-4 support to legacy applications.
Requirements
A Functional Analyst in software development projects needs a diverse set of skills to effectively bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions.

- The ideal candidate has proven experience in developing software within the domain of transport planning.
- Experience in developing software for railway traffic planning is a strong asset.

- Can work onsite (Brussels) min 2x/week
- You possess professional proficiency in English and in Dutch or French and you understand the 3rd language
- You have 5+ years of experience as Functional Analyst in software development for both planning tools and other software solutions
- As a Functional Analyst you have experience in public transport and you understand planning processes of such transport
- You have experience as an application owner to maintain and support legacy applications by analysing and managing small evolutions
- You have worked with and understand the processes in Azure DevOps and/or Jira-Confluence to manage the project's backlogs
