We are seeking a Data Governance & Privacy Expert to provide advisory, operational, and analytical support in a complex and regulated environment.
Your dual focus will be on
Data privacy & ethics responsibilities

Conduct risk assessments for data privacy in the context of new projects, outsourcing, and existing systems (e.g., Dpias).

Draft structured risk reports aligned with internal governance standards and external regulatory expectations.

Recommend and validate appropriate mitigation strategies.

Support the organization's response to data subject rights requests.

Assist in the handling and investigation of personal data breaches.

Provide training, awareness, and communication support on data privacy topics.
Data governance responsibilities

Develop and implement data governance practices to ensure high-quality, secure, and compliant data management.

Support data governance needs across departments, including quality assurance, data modeling, and regulatory reporting.

Act as a point of contact and escalation for governance and compliance-related issues.

Promote cross-functional collaboration with business, compliance, legal, and technical stakeholders.

Deliver process documentation, templates, and training materials to standardize governance practices.
AI regulation alignment

Provide input and expertise on the emerging AI regulatory framework in relation to data privacy and governance.

Ensure ethical and compliant data practices in the development and deployment of AI systems.
Required profile
- Language skills:
- English: Fluent (spoken and written)
- Dutch and/or French: Fluent or native-level (must be able to write documentation and lead discussions)
- Education & certification:
- Master's degree in Law, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) is a strong asset.
Experience & knowledge
- Must-have:
- 3-5 years of experience in data governance, privacy, compliance, or risk management.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles.
- Proven experience conducting risk assessments and producing clear analytical reports.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with tools such as Archer GRC, Rally (Agile), ARIS, and SharePoint.
- Experience in financial services or a highly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of enterprise data modeling and regulatory data reporting practices.
- Prior experience in cross-functional, multicultural environments.
