Hays - Rust Developer

As a Rust Developer, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team working on the modernization of a real-time control system that governs railway traffic across multiple zones. Your role will be pivotal in transitioning legacy components to Rust, enhancing system safety and performance.

Your responsibilities will include

• Designing and implementing core software modules in Rust.
• Supporting the migration from C to Rust, including mentoring team members.
• Participating in architectural decisions and contributing to technical documentation.
• Engaging in safety and security assessments such as Tra and Fmea.
• Collaborating on the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
• You'll work in an environment where precision and reliability are paramount, and your contributions will directly impact the safety of thousands of daily commuters.

Your profile

We're looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Technical skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Rust.
  • Solid experience with C programming.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and debugging tools.
  • Version Control expertise using GIT.
  • Bonus: scripting in Python or Bash, experience with Java.
• Soft skills:
  • Detail-oriented and quality-driven.
  • Strong communicator and collaborative team player.
  • Curious, solution-focused, and eager to learn.
• Languages: Fluency in Dutch or French, with good command of English.
