About the Company
We are a European technology organisation operating large-scale critical internet infrastructure services. To support the evolution of our infrastructure and operational capabilities, we are looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Operations Lead to join our team in Belgium.
The Role
As Infrastructure & Operations Lead, you will oversee the operational reliability, continuity, and evolution of our infrastructure platforms and internal IT services.
You will coordinate infrastructure and operations teams, manage day-to-day operational activities, and contribute hands-on to highly available production environments. The role combines operational leadership, infrastructure engineering, incident management, automation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across infrastructure and internal IT teams
- Ensure service continuity, incident management, and operational reliability
- Manage Linux-based production infrastructure across distributed datacenter environments
- Oversee virtualization, container, and private cloud platforms
- Support DNS, backend platforms, and critical production services
- Drive automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability initiatives
- Contribute to networking, firewalling, routing, and database infrastructure operations
- Collaborate closely with engineering, security, architecture, and service delivery teams
- Promote operational maturity, documentation, governance, and continuous improvement
Your Profile
Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in infrastructure engineering, TechOps, or IT operations
- Proven experience leading technical operations teams in complex production environments
- Experience with incident management, service continuity, and Agile environments
Technical Skills
- Strong Linux administration background (RHEL-based preferred)
- Good knowledge of DNS, networking, distributed infrastructure, and security
- Experience with VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ansible, and Terraform
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, GitLab)
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Pragmatic, service-oriented, and collaborative mindset
- Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities
- Fluent in English
