Role Overview
Capyx is looking for a Data Governance Expert to strengthen its Enterprise Data Model (EDM) squad within the Data Governance Center of Excellence.
This role focuses on governing, promoting, and evolving the EDM practice, ensuring consistent data exchange across business and IT domains, and embedding the EDM into a broader data governance framework. The expert will guide stakeholders, define standards and roadmaps, monitor quality and adoption, and champion a culture of strong data modelling and governance across the organization.
Must-Have Skills

Bachelor/Master's degree in IT, Business Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience

Analyze and define the gap between internal data model standards and industry standards

Strong knowledge of top-down and bottom-up data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical, canonical models) with UML, ERD, or similar languages

Hands-on experience with SAP PowerDesigner or another enterprise data modelling tool

Solid understanding of data governance domains (metadata management, data quality, lineage, GDPR, BCBS239, dictionaries)

Ability to train stakeholders and develop modelling guidelines and supporting materials

Knowledge of Agile methodology and project management practices

Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across business and IT

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and pragmatic mindset

Fluency in English, and Dutch or French to interact with stakeholders

Experience with Data Products and Data Mesh concepts

Familiarity with API and Kafka design
-
Understanding of data architecture and industry models (e.g., ISO20022)
-
Exposure to software development and database design
