Azure Security Engineer
Are you a passionate Azure engineer? We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Azure, with a strong emphasis on cloud security, automation, and compliance.
As a key player in the infrastructure team, you'll help shape and secure enterprise-grade environments that are scalable, resilient, and aligned with best practices.
Role
- Secure Cloud Architecture: Design and manage cloud environments with a focus on networking, Firewalls, databases, and identity.
- Azure Security Leadership: Implement and enforce Azure security policies, access controls, monitoring, and encryption mechanisms.
- Multi-Cloud Familiarity: Leverage your knowledge of AWS and/or Google Cloud in hybrid/multi-cloud scenarios.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate deployment using tools such as TerraForm, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Cost Control: Monitor and manage cloud spending to ensure cost-effective infrastructure operation.
- Compliance & Governance: Enforce security compliance in line with frameworks like ISO, NIST, and CIS.
- System Performance: Continuously optimize infrastructure to meet high availability and performance requirements.
- Collaboration: Work alongside IT, security, and development teams to align solutions with business needs.
- Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation; support team members through training and guidance.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT systems and cloud infrastructure, with strong expertise in Azure security
- Familiar with at least one additional cloud platform (AWS or Google Cloud)
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code and automation tools
- Strong understanding of cloud cost management and optimization
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus
- Experience with identity management, security monitoring, and regulatory compliance in Azure
- Strong interpersonal skills and a problem-solving, security-first mindset
- Ability to operate independently as a freelancer in a fast-paced project environment
Nice-to-haves
- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-500, AZ-104, AZ-305)
- Experience with Azure Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, or Zero Trust frameworks
- Comfortable advising and collaborating across multiple departments
