We are looking for a Product Owner (PO) to join our Claims & Contact Center team within the Commercial Lines & Claims domain.

Context

 

The Commercial Lines & Claims domain is responsible for maximizing business value and ensuring delivery of all claims-related systems, including those that will migrate to Guidewire components in the future.

The mission of the Claims & Contact Center team is to modernize and optimize claims and contact management processes using Guidewire Claims Center and Contact Manager, while safeguarding streamlined claims handling.

 

Your role

 

As Product Owner, you are the bridge between business, IT, and stakeholders. You represent customer and sponsor interests and are end-to-end responsible for delivering enhancements. You set delivery team priorities, coordinate collaboration, and ensure the product backlog is always up-to-date so that both change and run processes operate smoothly. You will work within a complex IT landscape, ensuring efficient integration into the overall architecture.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Defining strategy and vision:
    • Align product vision with department objectives together with the Chief Product Owner and other POS.
    • Translate the vision into a concrete product roadmap, contributing to project planning and business reviews.
    • Monitor market developments and competition in your domain.
  • Managing the product backlog:
    • Continuously manage and prioritize a complex product backlog with multiple stakeholders and components.
    • Translate needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals.
    • Take final decisions on functional requirements and features.
  • Coordinating delivery teams:
    • Lead agile ceremonies and track progress and KPIs.
    • Act as the main point of contact for the team, providing quick and clear answers.
    • Ensure clear communication about priorities and dependencies.
    • Safeguard delivery quality by defining strong acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships:
    • Maintain close contact with key stakeholders to ensure their involvement.
    • Clearly communicate the business value of releases.
    • Align proactively with business departments and other agile teams.
  • Ensuring quality delivery and managing priorities:
    • Continuously evaluate priorities based on scope, budget, and planning.
    • Identify dependencies between initiatives and resolve conflicts quickly.
    • Keep the backlog transparent for stakeholders and ensure clear objectives for the team.
  • End-to-end leadership of small to mid-sized initiatives:
    • Ensure business requirements are defined on time.
    • Decide, together with other Product Owners, which delivery teams to involve at what stage.

  • Strong communicator with an assertive and results-oriented mindset.

  • Affinity with non-life insurance products and understanding of domain-specific business needs.

  • Team player who co-creates solutions with significant stakeholder value.

  • Open to feedback as a tool for personal and collective growth.

  • Decisive in uncertain situations with clear priority-setting skills.

  • Able to build strong, trust-based stakeholder relationships.

  • Familiar with Agile methodology and motivated to specialize further.

  • Broad knowledge/experience in relevant domains (insurance, technical, commercial, legal, HR, ...), combined with functional and technical asset knowledge.

  • Experience in functional leadership within a delivery context.

  • Fluent in Dutch or French, with a strong command of the second national language. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.
