A company based in Ghent, are on the search for a Freelance Senior Cobol Developer. This role is ideal for an experienced professional, ready to support critical systems maintenance while also being engaged in project-based work.
Role overview
We are looking for a Freelance Senior Cobol Developer to join the team on a 4-month contract, starting in September, with a strong possibility of extension. You will be responsible for ongoing system maintenance, incident support, investigations, and contributing to development projects as required.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and support Cobol-based systems
- Assist in handling incidents and conducting root cause investigations
- Participate in ongoing and upcoming development projects
- Collaborate with internal teams and business stakeholders
- Ensure documentation and compliance with development standards
Required skills & experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Cobol development
- Strong experience with CICS and DB2
- Proven experience in incident management and system investigations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
Work environment
- Hybrid work setup: 1 day per week on-site in Ghent
- Remaining days remote/flexible
