Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, setup, and optimization of Cosmos DB environments for production and non-production use
- Collaborate with project teams to define and implement database architecture, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
- Develop and maintain TerraForm scripts and automation tools for environment provisioning
- Ensure compliance with internal technical standards, naming conventions, and security protocols
- Provide incident and change management support during go-live and stabilization phases
- Deliver hands-on training sessions and create documentation to upskill team members on Cosmos DB operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Act as a liaison between development, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure smooth integration and knowledge transfer
Required skills & experience
- Proven experience with Azure Cosmos DB, including MongoDB and SQL APIs
- Strong understanding of Request Units (Ru), indexing policies, and schema-agnostic design
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, TerraForm, and cloud-native deployment practices
- Ability to interpret and apply naming conventions and governance standards in enterprise environments
- Experience in training and mentoring technical teams
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred candidates would also meet the following criteria
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Cosmos DB Developer Specialty
- Experience with ServiceNow & Azure DevOps
