Position overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer / BI Analyst with over 5 years of experience in designing and developing dashboards, data models, and reports in Power BI, and 5+ years of strong SQL development experience, particularly in data warehousing or regulatory environments. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of European or Belgian banking regulations or demonstrate the ability to adapt to regulatory requirements quickly.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain intuitive and insightful dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and complex data models for data warehousing and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure efficient data processing using advanced DAX and Power Query/M techniques, including row-level security and incremental data refresh.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
- Implement source control and CI/CD pipelines using GIT and Azure DevOps for BI artifacts.
- Apply data warehousing concepts such as star/snowflake schema for building structured data models.
- Stay updated on relevant European/Belgian banking regulations (e.g., MiFID II, PST3, AML) and ensure BI solutions align with compliance standards.
What you bring
- Power BI: 3+ years hands-on experience with dashboards, DAX, Power Query/M, Row-Level Security, incremental refresh, deployment pipelines
- SQL Development: 5+ years of experience with complex joins, window functions, query optimization, stored procedures, and job scheduling
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with MiFID II, PST3, AML or willingness to learn regulatory frameworks quickly
- Version Control: Experience with GIT and Azure DevOps
- CI/CD: Exposure to continuous integration and deployment practices for BI artifacts
- Data Modeling: Solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, including star and snowflake schemas
Nice to Have: Experience with Wherescape Red/3D or other Data Warehouse automation tools
