Business Analyst / Project Manager - Business Central (Finance Focus)
The Business Analyst / Project Manager acts as an internal expert and project lead for ERP systems, with a strong focus on Microsoft Business Central and Finance processes. The role is responsible for translating business needs into effective ERP solutions, driving process optimization, and ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Business Requirements & Solution Design
- Translate business requirements into ERP (Business Central) solutions, with a strong focus on Finance
- Support and guide functional consultants within your domain
- Configure ERP functionalities and maintain configuration tables
- Develop functional user stories and manage follow-up of developments
Planning & Coordination
- Define and align planning, priorities, and actions with stakeholders
- Ensure cross-functional integration, especially across Finance and other domains
- Identify and manage cross-functional data dependencies
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define and execute functional unit and end-to-end testing
- Ensure data consistency and interface accuracy
- Guarantee delivery of agreed “To Be” Finance and ERP functionalities
Consulting & Support
- Act as an internal consultant for Finance and ERP domains
- Coach and support SMEs and key users
- Deliver user training and promote best practices
- Own one or more functional domains within Business Central
Process Optimization
- Identify gaps versus the target model and Finance best practices
- Drive continuous improvement and alignment across entities
- Optimize Finance processes within the ERP landscape
Documentation & Reporting
- Define reporting requirements, especially for Finance
- Ensure data quality for migration and uploads
- Maintain clear documentation and provide regular project reporting
- Escalate risks, issues, and deviations proactively
Training & Workshops
- Support training material creation and delivery
- Facilitate workshops to model and improve Finance processes
Integration & Implementation
- Ensure proper integration between Finance and other business processes
- Document workflows using UML/BPMN and similar tools
- Support implementation, localization, and cut-over activities
Go-Live & Support
- Participate in go-live and hypercare phases
- Ensure smooth transition and system adoption
Stakeholder Management
- Define master data requirements with a Finance perspective
- Coordinate stakeholders and ensure alignment
- Report on progress, risks, and key decisions
Qualifications
- Strong experience as Business Analyst and/or Project Manager in ERP environments
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Business Central (mandatory)
- Strong background in Finance processes (mandatory)
- Experience translating business requirements into ERP solutions
- Ability to work across multiple functional domains
- Experience in workshops, training, and stakeholder management
- Knowledge of best practices in Finance and process optimization
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional environments
- Experience with process modeling tools (UML, BPMN)
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
