The Senior Business Project Manager leads and coordinates end-to-end business delivery within large-scale transformation programs in the financial sector.
The role ensures full alignment across Business, IT, Operations, Testing, and external providers, driving consistent and high-quality delivery from design through implementation and into BAU transition.
This position oversees multiple squads and streams, ensuring strong governance, coordination, and execution discipline in a complex, fast-paced transformation environment.
Key responsibilities
- Business delivery management:
- Define and drive end-to-end business delivery plans (scope, timelines, resources, dependencies, deliverables)
- Coordinate delivery across multiple squads and workstreams
- Ensure high-quality, on-time execution of business deliverables
- Anticipate resource needs and ensure effective allocation and planning
- Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and delivery issues
- Business analysis leadership & coordination:
- Lead and support Business Analysts across multiple squads
- Ensure clear prioritization, follow-up, and structured execution
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to BA teams
- Facilitate strong collaboration between Program Management, Business, and IT teams
- Support Lead Business Analysts in their squad responsibilities
- Functional coordination & governance:
- Orchestrate and manage multiple backlogs across the domain
- Ensure alignment with the overall domain roadmap and priorities
- Prevent duplication, inconsistencies, and gaps across squads
- Ensure end-to-end functional consistency across processes, epics, and providers
- Guarantee completeness and quality of functional design across all streams
- Stakeholder & provider management:
- Act as key interface between Business, IT, and external providers
- Coordinate cross-team functional alignment and decision-making
- Manage escalations and ensure resolution of complex cross-stream issues
- Support transition into BAU after go-live
- Interface with:
- Operations (validation and onboarding readiness)
- Testing teams
- Data migration teams
- Development and defect resolution teams
- Issue & escalation management:
- Own resolution of critical functional issues and escalations
- Conduct deep-dive analysis on complex functional challenges
- Ensure timely, structured resolution across all stakeholders
- Act as escalation point for functional topics across squads and providers
- Ensure full follow-up until complete issue closure
Required skills & experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, IT, or equivalent
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in Project Management roles, ideally in large-scale IT transformation programs
- Proven track record as a Business Project Manager in complex environments
- Strong Business Analyst background is a plus
- Experience in Retail Banking and financial services environments
- Experience in Core Banking implementation is a strong asset
- Exposure to large-scale transformation programs is essential
