Role overview
This is a senior-level engineering position focused on managing and modernizing enterprise Java application infrastructure. The role involves maintaining a legacy IBM WebSphere ND environment while leading the transition to IBM Liberty on a private cloud platform.
Key responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee and support traditional WebSphere ND environments
- Cloud Migration: Lead the migration to IBM Liberty in a private cloud setup
- Technical Leadership: Guide a team of engineers and collaborate with architects, vendors, and service providers
- Project Delivery: Ensure timely and quality delivery of infrastructure projects aligned with strategic roadmaps
- Performance & Security: Monitor JVM performance, manage TLS/SSL configurations, and ensure compliance with security standards
Required skills & experience
- 10+ years with IBM WebSphere (Traditional Base and Liberty v20+)
- Apache Tomcat, Java-based applications
- TLS/SSL, Red Hat Linux, scripting, networking
- JVM performance tuning
- Familiarity with Agile, ITIL, CI/CD, Disaster Recovery
- Tools: TerraForm, Ansible Tower, Java, CaaS, ServiceNow (preferred)
