We're working with a large-scale organisation looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Antwerp.
You'll work on large-scale platforms that power products across the media and AI landscape, helping to build backend systems that process high volumes of data and deliver strong performance.

Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build APIs and MicroServices that support data-intensive platforms.
- Collaborate with product managers and frontend developers to deliver new features.
- Optimise application performance and scalability.
- Write clean and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.
Your profile
- Commercial experience developing backend applications with Java.
- Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Understanding of software design principles, testing, and clean architecture.
- Experience with GIT and modern development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Comfortable communicating in English (Dutch a major plus).
